Domenico Ghirlandaio (1448–1494) was one of the leading Florentine artists of the Quattrocento, the founder of the artistic dynasty, which was continued by his brother David and son Ridolfo. The head of the art workshop where the young Michelangelo worked. The author of fresco cycles, in which the home life of biblical characters is shown in with all possible details (noble citizens of Florence in costumes of that time act in their roles).
