description

Summary

The U.S. Pacific Fleet Band performs during a change of command ceremony in Hangar 105 aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Aug. 29, 2015. U.S. Navy Cmdr. Brian M. Olson, a San Diego native, took command of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 51 from Cmdr. Kanan C. Ott, an Anaheim, Calif., native. Ott also received the Meritorious Service Medal during the ceremony. Change of command ceremonies are a part of the rich tradition of the Navy and Marine Corps, and help to instill a sense of culture and pride in the service members aboard MCB Hawaii, in an effort to further the installation's mission: to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
