Tiburon Fire Department fireboat fights a fire on Angel Island, near San Francisco, 2008-10-13

In 2006 the Tiburon fire department acquired a used 35 foot fireboat from LAFD. Two thirds of the cost were paid through a Port security grant from DHS.

The Coast Guard and Southern Marin Fire District responded to fires that broke out on Angel Island Oct. 12, 2008. The CGC Sockeye acted as the On Scene Coordinator while Station Golden Gate transported firefighters and assets to the island.
