Scope and content: The full caption for this photograph reads: Tule Lake Relocation Center, Newell, California. This photograph shows one of the fire hazards which must be avoided by constant vigilance. The photo shows a bucket of coal which had been placed too close to the stove. The pointing finger shows the scorched area on the bucket and had not this been noticed in time would have resulted in a fire. (This picture was taken at the request of William Hoffman, Western Regional Fire Director).
