Twisted and folded rock near the Quarry Visitor Center
Summary
When the Rocky Mountains rose approximately 50-60 million years ago, it both folded and twisted these rock layers. With weathering, they became what you see today. This is an end of summer picture, taken late in the day, not too far from the Quarry Exhibit hall.
