U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class John Fitzpatrick, 1st Combat Communications Squadron radio frequency technician, assembles a small aperture antenna on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Aug. 21, 2017. The 1st CBCS was one of several squadrons who worked together to open a base for the exercise. Exercising together helped the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing identify opportunities for improvement, ensure personnel can function cohesively when a contingency happens and the U.S. needs to open a base in a remote location, the wing can do so quickly and efficiently.
