U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Ronald C. Anderson, command chief master sergeant of the Air National Guard, and retired Lt. Gen. L. Scott Rice, the twelfth director of the Air National Guard (both pictured background right), salute the colors during Anderson’s retirement ceremony at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, Oct. 2, 2020. Anderson, who enlisted in the Air Force in December 1987, has served as the twelfth Command Chief Master Sergeant of the Air National Guard since May 2016. In that role, he was responsible for matters influencing the health, morale, welfare and professional development of more than 105,000 Air Guard members across 50 states, three territories and the District of Columbia.
