description

Summary

Lt. Gen. Jeffrey W. Talley (fourth from left), chief of the U.S. Army Reserve and commanding general of the Army Reserve, and Command Sgt. Maj. James Lambert (center), command sergeant major of the Army Reserve, meet with Army Reserve Soldier Heroes at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio, Jan. 4. Soldier Heroes are current Army Reserve soldiers recognized for acts of valor during combat or recipients of a purple heart medal. These heroes are being recognized as part of the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl week and had the chance to interact with players and band members in a variety of events. The Army has hosted the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio since 2002. The event highlights the nation's top high school football players, along with the best high school marching band musicians and color guard members who have demonstrated the same excellence and dedication that defines Army Strong. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is scheduled for kickoff in the Alamodome, Jan. 5. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Sgt. Andrew Valles, 205th Public Affairs Operations Center)
