U.S. Army Reserves Cpl. Leslie Cardona, an ammunition

description

Summary

U.S. Army Reserves Cpl. Leslie Cardona, an ammunition specialist with the 266th Ordnance Company out of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, waits patiently as blood is drawn from her during a blood drive at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Dec. 29, 2020. After being initially screened during a walking blood bank drive earlier in the year, the Soldiers reported to the Role II compound to donate blood for future use in case of a mass casualty event. The blood drive allowed the combat medics to extract blood from pre-identified individuals with critical blood types for a walking blood bank in the event of receiving a critically injured patient.
