U.S. Army soldiers embrace each other at the battlefield cross during a memorial ceremony for Spc. Hilda Clayton at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Afghanistan, July 8, 2013. Spc. Clayton died while taking photographs of Afghan National Army soldiers as they conducted a live-fire training exercise July 2, 2013. A mortar weapon system failed resulting in a catastrophic explosion, during the incident four ANA soldiers taking part in the training died. Clayton, of Augusta, Ga., was forward-deployed in Afghanistan as the combat camera asset covering the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, "Task Force Long Knife," at the time of her death.
