U.S. Army Soldiers from the California Army National Guard’s Redding-based Task Force Rattlesnake move to a position Sept. 1, 2020, near Scott’s Valley, California, during the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties. Cal Guard’s specially-trained Rattlesnake teams are assisting the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) contain the massive wildfire that scorched more than 85,000 acres since igniting Aug. 16.
