Owen, a vehicle commander, both of 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oregon Army National Guard during a training exercise Oct. 24, 2014 in Kabul, Afghanistan. The 2nd Platoon primarily provides "guardian angel" support, which provides overwatch security for contractors who conduct training with select Afghan National Security Forces.
