U.S. Army Spc. Jody Truesdale, with Provincial Reconstruction Team Kapisa, sits atop a Military All-Terrain Vehicle just outside the Alasay District Center in Afghanistan. This mission marks the first time in three years that U.S. forces pushed into the Alasay District because of a heavy Taliban resistance in the area. The PRT routinely performs missions throughout Kapisa to interact and engage with local leaders. The PRT's mission is to stabilize the region by enabling local governments to care for, educate, employ and protect their people through the construction of basic infrastructure and mentorship.
