Summary

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Celine N. Contreras, hails from Oceanside, California, and is currently serving as a field radio operator assigned to the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command (SPMAFTF-CR-CC) 19.2 in Kuwait.
“I work out to feel good and look good,” said Cpl. Contreras. “This puts me one step closer to my goal of getting to the 1000 pound club.”
Weightlifters become a member of this club by bench pressing, squatting and deadlifting a combined weight of 1000 pounds or more.
Cpl. Contreras started her fitness journey at the age of 15 and kept lifting as she got older. Once she joined the Marine Corps in October 2016, she became fully committed to her lifting journey.
Despite her work schedule, Cpl. Contreras spends time in the gym on a daily basis. A regular day starts with cardio and ends with weight training and stretching.
Cpl. Contreras competed against 24 females from seven different bases near the base at which she is deployed. Overall, she came in second place and received medals for bench-press, squat, and deadlift.
Her journey does not stop until she reaches her ultimate goal: reach the 1000 pounds club by April 2020.
