U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Clay Vaughn, a drill instructor with Recruit Processing Company, Support Training Battalion, observes recruits of India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, during an initial strength test June 3, 2017, on Parris Island, S.C. Approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
