U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Ali Iseldin Baldan works on making an Ethernet cable as part of a race between Marines, where the goal was to set up a working communication system, during a communications exercise at the Jungle Warfare Training Center in Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 18, 2018. Baldan, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, is a data system administrator with Alpha Tactical Networking Platoon, Alpha Company, 7th Communication Battalion. The communications exercise was conducted to test their capabilities in providing communication services in field environments as well as train in jungle warfare tactics.
