Summary
A Short SC.7 Skyvan, a civilian aircraft, used by Charlie Company, 2d Reconnaissance Battalion, 2d Marine Division, is staged outside of a hangar in Temple, TX, Jan. 27, 2018. The purpose of freefall insertion training is to place a Reconnaissance team safely and closely together to conduct deep ground reconnaissance, surveillance, battle space shaping, and limited scale raids in support of the Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), other Marine air-ground task forces, or a joint force.
