U.S. Marines with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine

U.S. Marines with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment patrol their area in order to maintain security in, Fallujah, Al Anbar province, Iraq on February 24, 2008. The Marines watch the area and work with Iraqi police to ensure the safety of the civilians and prevent terrorism. Regimental Combat Team 1 is deployed with Multi-National Force-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
