U.S. Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, currently serving as the Command Element, Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response- Central Command 20.2, begin preparations for Certification Exercise at Camp Wilson, Marine Corps Base 29 Palms, Feb. 11, 2020. CERTEX is the final evaluation exercise for the 13th MEU CE, SPMAGTF-CR-CC 20.2, to ensure unit readiness to respond to a wide-range of crisis scenarios. The California-based 13th MEU will serve as the Command Element for SPMAGTF-CR-CC 20.2 during their upcoming spring deployment to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
