CARIBBEAN SEA (Sep. 24, 2017) U.S. Navy Landing Craft Utility 1657, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), exits the well deck of Kearsarge carrying Marine Corps personnel and equipment in support of Hurricane Maria relief operations, in the Caribbean Sea, Sept. 24, 2017. The 26th MEU is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
