Summary

U.S. Navy Seabees, assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 23, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, carry prefabricated floors with service members from the Peruvian Marines Corp of Engineers and load them onto a truck. The two navies are working together at Callao Naval Base to build floors and walls that will be used at a school in Zona De Acapulco and Ancon, as part of Southern Partnership Station 2012. The Seabees and engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing two schools in the area. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with navies, coast guards and civilian services throughout the region. It also reiterates the countries' partnership and commitment to regional cooperation throughout Latin America.
