Summary

U.S. Navy Seabees, assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 23, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel (HSV 2) Swift, conduct a meet and greet session with engineers from the Peruvian Navy at Escuela Pronoie Nuevo Despertar Mis Puimeros Pasitos. The two Navies are working together at the school in Zona De Acapulco, as part of Southern Partnership Station (SPS 12) 2012. The Seabees and Engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing two schools in the area. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region.
