USACE Galveston District’s Employee Spotlight on Capt. Derek Thornton

It’s no secret that successful engineers often exhibit similar personality traits ranging from possessing strong problem solving skills to working well as a team, so it didn’t come as a surprise to Capt. Derek Thornton’s family when he decided to pursue a career as an engineer. What they didn’t know was that he was determined to serve as an Army officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
