USNS Safeguard sailor conducts CrossFit exercises at sea

Navy Diver 2nd Class Taylor Nevius drives a sledgehammer into a bumper, while performing a CrossFit Exercise aboard USNS Safeguard (T-ARS 50). The ship is currently in Onagawa after city representatives invited the salvage ship for a visit. While in port, Safeguard's crew will assist in community service projects and conduct shipboard tours for local school children. Onagawa was devastated by the Great East Japan Earthquake, March 11, which triggered a massive tsunami that swept through the area.
