USS Bonhomme Richard departs for RIMPAC 2008
Summary
Lt. Cmdr. Bill Wren, assigned to the Amphibious Assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), salutes the ensign aboard the ship’s flight deck during morning colors at Naval Station Pearl Harbor. The Bonhomme Richard departed Pearl Harbor for participation in this year’s Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. RIMPAC is the world’s largest multinational exercise, is scheduled biennially by U.S. Pacific Fleet and takes place in the Hawaiian operating area during June 29 - July 31, 2008. Participants include Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, Netherlands, Peru, Republic of Korea, Singapore, United Kingdom and the U.S. India, Colombia, Mexico.
