USS Rentz participates in Operation Martillo

The guided missile frigate USS Rentz (FFG 46) enters the Gatun locks on the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal Sept. 18, 2013, during counter-transnational organized crime operations in the U.S. 4th Fleet area of responsibility as part of Operation Martillo. Operation Martillo is a joint, interagency and multinational collaborative effort to deny transnational criminal organizations air and maritime access to the littoral regions of the Central American isthmus.
