USS San Diego maiden deployment

Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Tyler Daughtery, from Brevard, North Carolina, fires a shot line from the forecastle of the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) to the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Laramie (T-AO 203) during a replenishment-at-sea. San Diego is a part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
