Vietnamese officials inspect new personal protective equipment in Hanoi in September 2011. (6171186387)

Nguyen Dug Hanh of Vietnam's Department of Animal Health (on truck), transport supervisor Doan Phu Huyen (left) and Nguyen Thi Thanh Diep inspect a shipment of 1,700 personal protection kits -- suits, masks, gloves, goggles and related items -- in September 2011 before they are shipped to Can Tho, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Kieng Giang, and Quang Tri provinces to help veterinary officials and animal health workers battle disease outbreaks in the country. Since 2007, USAID has provided over 15,000 protective equipment kits for animal health workers in Vietnam.
