DA NANG, Vietnam (Apr. 10, 2014) Vietnamese People's Navy Rear Adm. Ngo Sy Quyet, commander of Naval Region 3, left, speaks with Rear Adm. Cindy Thebaud, commander of Logistics Group Western Pacific, right, during a U.S. hosted reception aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) in support of Naval Engagement Activity (NEA) Vietnam. The NEA provides opportunities for U.S and Vietnamese naval professionals to share best practices and maritime skills. Maritime skill exchanges between the two navies are non-combatant events, such as military medicine, search and rescue, diving and salvage and shipboard damage control.
