WBAMC, first DoD hospital to use new device for aneurysm

A CT scan displays an abdominal aorta aneurysm and a common iliac artery aneurysm in a 60-year-old male patient at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. On April 18, WBAMC became the first Department of Defense military treatment facility to use a new Food and Drug Administration-approved device which prevents the blocking of the internal iliac artery (identified on left image) preserving bloodflow to the pelvis and preventing pain and sexual dysfunction for the patient.
