The 21-gun salute was performed after an Independence Day speech given by the chaplain through the ship's public address system. Ronald Reagan, flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
