Black and white daguerreotype portrait of a woman. Subject is a Caucasian female with body and head facing full front. Subject has dark-colored hair parted in the middle and pulled back, covering her ears and one curl on her left forehead. Subject wears a light-colored dress with fine stripes. The bodice is gathered from the shoulders to a vee at the waist and then fans out in gathers on the skirt. Sleeves are long and fitted with a ruffle at midpoint of upper arm and lace edging on the cuffs and also around the neck. Subject wears a long crucifix around her neck. Subject is seated and has her left arm folded over her right arm.
