Wooden Crosses Mark Graves at Kennecott Cemetery
Summary
Kennecott Cemetery - Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark. The cemetery, which is located south of the mill town along the original access road, was utilized between 1908 and 1938. These wooden Latin-style crosses are the most common grave markers used in the cemetery.
Although many of the wood artifacts suffer from decay, the structures of the cemetery continue to collectively convey the landscape's historic sense of time and place, along with its associations to the former activities of the nearby mill town.
