World War II veteran Jack Eaton, a 100-year old resident of Burt, Mich., conducts a media interview at Detroit Metro Airport after returning from an honor flight to Washington, D.C., Oct. 23, 2019. Eaton, the oldest-living Sentinel for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, traveled to Washington, D.C. to see his name for the first time on the cemetery's Sentinel board. Eaton served as a Sentinel from 1938-1940, before seeing combat in Europe during World War II (Michigan National Guard photo by 1st Lt. Andrew Layton).
