Wreaths are placed in front of the Alamo in honor of the fallen during the annual San Antonio Fiesta Pilgrimage to the Alamo April 22, 2019. The annual pilgrimage began in 1925 at the initiation of the Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. During the procession and wreath-laying in Alamo Plaza, the names of the Alamo defenders are read, and a memorial service and the playing of Taps concludes the ceremony.
