Yokohama kenbutsu zue - Public domain portrait engraving

Japanese print shows a woman holding a violin sitting in a room in a foreign settlement house. She is looking at a soldier, who may be her husband, holding a rifle and standing on the right. He is depicted outside the room, possibly as a figment of her imagination.
