Daylighting Along Rim Drive - Public Domain image, National Parks Gallery
Резюме
Rim Drive Historic District. The impacts of road-building were mitigated through the process of daylighting, which is the act of creating rounded slopes from cut and fill operations. Fills and daylighted slopes were commonly stabilized with trees planted to match the surrounding forests. Lodgepole pine, mountain hemlock, and Shasta red fir were commonly used, along with other shrubs.
