Description: Monumental Church (Twelfth and Broad Sts.) Richmond, Va., On the night of Dec. 26, 1811, and during the performance therein of a pantomime called 'The Bleeding Nun,' the Richmond Theatre was totally destroyed by fire and seventy-two persons, including the Governor of Virginia (Geo. W. Smith) perished in the flames.
