The Short-horned lizard "Horned toad" lives in the rocky uplands of the park and dines on ants. They are very hard to see as they blend in with the rocks, dirt and grass that they live in.

These Teepee frames are covered with canvas during the summer months. Visitors stand in the teepees and travel back into time.

This baby snapping turtle made its way to the north side of the visitor center where it found the way to the river blocked by a building. A ranger found the little one, took several photos and helped it find the river.
