Landing Craft, Air Cushion 81 (LCAC-81), from Assault Unit Craft Five (ACU-5), US Fleet Activities, Sasebo, Japan, glides onto a Gogu beach for the D-Day Mobile Fuel Distribution System (DMFDS) concept demonstration in support of Exercise FOAL EAGLE 2000. The DMFDS is a Force Warfighting Lab (FWL) sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) funded project which demonstrates new techniques in the first ever transfer of fuel from the sea to land. Foal Eagle is the largest Joint and Combined field training drill conducted annually in South Korea, running from Oct. 25th to Nov. 3rd.
