CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Night falls over the turn basin in Launch Complex 39 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, bringing with it expectations of the appearance of a “supermoon.” The scientific term for the supermoon phenomenon is "perigee moon."
