Islip, N.Y., Nov. 6, 2012 -- The FEMA Branch Director for Nassau/Suffolk Counties, Mark Neveau, tours hurricane and fire damaged homes in Islip, New York. Federal, Sate and Local officials toured the area to coordinate recovery efforts in Suffolk County. Hurricane Sandy created widespread flooding, power outages and devastation in New York. FEMA is working with many partners including federal, state, local and tribal governments, voluntary, faith-based and community-based organizations, and the private sector to assist residents impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
