New Public Contracts Board, Washington, D.C. Oct. 6. Members of the new public contracts board of the Department of Labor met today for the first time shortly after they were appointed by the Secretary Perkins. Hearings will be held immediately by the Board to make findings upon questions arrising under the Walsh-Healey law which went into effect last week and requires that manufacturers and dealers who make future contracts in excess of $10,000 with the Government shall comply with certain minimum wage, maximum hour and other labor conditions in the performance of the contract.
