Members of the US Forces Color Guard stand at attention during the funeral for retired US Navy (USN) Admiral (ADM) Thomas H. Moorer. USN ADM Moorer, graduate of the Naval Academy class of 1933, went on to serve as the CHIEF of Naval Operations (CNO) from 1967-1970, whereupon he was appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of STAFF (CJCS), a post he held until his retirement in 1974. A former naval aviator, USN ADM Moorer earned many personal decorations and honors during his career, including the Department of Defense (DoD) Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) and the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC)
