He is now wrestling with the problem of finding space for the harvest of 1938 agricultural yearbooks--35,000 volumes--shown under his feet and all around him. In an appearance before the House Rivers and Harbors Committee today, Secretary of Interior Harold Ickes asked congress to give him full control over the Bonneville Dam project in Oregon. He said he favored a bill introduced by Rep. Walter Pierce because the Secretary of Interior was "charged with the responsibility of the Bonneville project but was without authority to appoint authorities at the project, excepting only the Administrator." Ickes added he felt he should also be permitted to appoint the subordinates as well as the administrator, 7/18/39

These six diesel generators supply power to the Cheyenne Mountain Air Station. During the ORI it was the responsibility of Damage Control Center (DCC) and the Mission Control Center (MCC) to ensure that all systems continued to work and support the Air Station. The scenario was part of the 21st Space Wing's Operational Readiness Inspection conducted at Cheyenne Mountain Air Station and Peterson AFB, Colo., 13 to 17 February 1996.
