CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - In Orbiter Processing Facility Bay 2 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a technician spray paints simulated thrusters on the space shuttle Endeavour.      The work is part of Transition and Retirement of the remaining space shuttles, Endeavour and Atlantis. Endeavour is being prepared for public display at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Its ferry flight to California is targeted for mid-September. Endeavour was the last space shuttle added to NASA’s orbiter fleet. Francis Biddle, until today (Friday) Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board, is seen here as he was about to enter the White House for a conference with Pres. Roosevelt. Following the visit it was announced that Biddle had formally submitted his resignation on the N.I.R. Board. The N.I.R.B. will itself go out of existence next month. Personal reasons, and a desire to return to the practice of law were given as cause for the retirement. Biddle's name has lately been linked with new possibilities of appointment, perhaps to foreign service, 7/5/35

Senate Committee told million railroad employees back Crosser-Wagner Pension Bill. Washington, D.C., May 15. Appearing as the first witness in favor of the Crosser-Wagner Railroad Pension Bill, George M. Harrison, President of the Railway Clerks Association and Chairman of the Railway Labor Executives Association, today told the house Interstate Commerce Committee that 1,500,000 railroad employees favor this new bill which if passed, will replace the present Railroad Retirement Act. Harrison added there was "no doubt of its constitutionality" and that it had been worked out with railroad managements on the understanding that it would not be attacked in courts by them. For extraordinary heroism during attacks on Jap bridgeheads at Vigan, in Northern Luzon, Lieutenant Jack Dale of the U.S. Army Air Corps received a Distinguished Service Cross from General MacArthur (right) before Japanese forces forced American troop retirement from Manila. Other air heroes decorated with the Distinguished Service Cross were Captain Jesus A. Villamor (center rear) of the Philippine Army, and posthumously, Captain Colin P.
