Alpha Company, 63rd Signal Battalion, US Army, from Fort Stewart, GA set up an AN/TRC-173 Tri Tac Mobile Radio Terminal aboard the USS Inchon (LPH-12) anchored off the coast of Somalia. The radio terminal equipped with eight Defense Switched Network (DSN) phone lines, allowed sailors and Marines 10 minutes of free morale phone time. This program was called Operation Phone Home
