Flooding ^ Hurricane/Tropical Storm ^ Severe Storm - Mandeville, La. , Sep. 10, 2012 --Two homes in the old section of Mandeville, La. demonstrate the difference in damage suffered after Hurricane Isaac swept through the area. The house on the right was raised 12 feet after Hurricane Katrina and had minimal damage while the house on the left had major damage due to flooding. FEMA is working with local, state and other federal agencies to provide assistance to homeowners who want to raise their homes to protect them against future potential flooding.
