Arthur Henri Poole - The family that prays together - stays together
Summary
House decorated for the Eucharistic Congress from the Poole Collection. The Congress took place in Dublin but the faithful took part in many activities in places throughout the country. In this case Mr. Quinn and the family went to great effort to decorate their house and then the entire family appear to have posed outside to mark the occasion!..With thanks to BeachcomberAustralia ( /photos/beachcomberaustralia/ ) we are reminded (as we clearly forgot) that we "had" a lower-resolution version of this image before. Seven years ago no less. Must be an itch of some kind :) We were advised at the time, by noonies12 ( /photos/7787431@N07/ ) , that the man in the man with the bowtie was Ned "Neddo" Barry who lived directly across from the house pictured. Thanks again all!...Photographer: A. H. Poole..Collection: Poole Photographic Studio, Waterford...Date: c.28 June 1932..NLI Ref: POOLEWP 3922 ( vtls000594555 ) ..You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie ( http://catalogue.nli.ie )
