Summary

A senior drill instructor of Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, introduces his drill instructors to his new recruits during pick up at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Oct. 23. This is the first time recruits met their permanent drill instructors who will be with them for the duration of recruit training. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 15.
